The Question of Biblical Ordination ?

We ask for your faith and prayers today . . . for each of the men and women who are faced with this issue in the Light of God’s Word of Truth.

“This is a true saying . . . If a man desire the office of a bishop (elder – a superintendent, an overseer, one who goes to see and bring relief), he desireth a good thing. For a bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife . . . vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach  . . . and one that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity (honesty) !”     I Timothy 3:1-7

“There is a decided work to be done in our churches. Those chosen as elders of the churches are to be men of experience, who have a knowledge of the Truth (Verity of God’s Word) and are sound in the faith. In his letter to Titus, Paul points out the qualifications which should be possessed by those placed in charge of the flock of God. ref: Titus chapters 1 and 2

An Urgent Appeal to our Churches !

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I ask that you will share this with every 7th day Adventist, and Christian you know. There is more at stake than many are being led to believe !

“History is repeating. With the open Bible before them, and professing to reverence its teachings, many of the religious leaders of our time are destroying faith in it as the Word of God. They busy themselves with dissecting the Word, and set their own opinions above its plainest statements. In their hands God’s Word loses Its regenerating power. This is why infidelity runs riot, and iniquity is rife.

When Satan has undermined faith in the Bible, he directs men to other sources for light and power. Thus he insinuates himself. Those who turn from the plain teaching of Scripture and the convicting power of God’s Holy Spirit . . . “for the Words I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life !” (John 6:63) . . . are inviting the control of demons. Criticism and speculation concerning the Scriptures have opened the way for spiritism and theosophy–those modernized forms of ancient heathenism–to gain a foothold even in the professed churches of our Lord Jesus Christ . . . !”
Desire of Ages, p.258

Male and Female Created He them ?

“This is a true saying . . . If a man desire the office (position) of a bishop (an Elder, leadership), he desireth a good work. For a bishop must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior . . . . One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity (honour and honesty) . . .

For if a man know not how to rule (to stand before, preside over, maintain) his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God ?”   I Timothy 3:1-13

“The home (and the church) is an institution of God . . . God designed that the family circle, father, mother, and children, should exist in this world as a firm (a security, reliable and trustworthy, stable). The father is to act as priest in his own house (interceding, standing in place of his family). He is the “house-band'” and what his influence will be in the home will be determined by his knowledge of the Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent . . .

Woman should fill the position which God originally designed for her, as her husband’s equal. The world needs mothers who are mothers not merely in name but in every sense of the word. We may safely say that the distinctive duties of woman are more sacred, more holy, than those of man. Let woman realize the sacredness of her work and in the strength and fear of God take up her life mission. Let her educate her children for usefulness in this world and for a home in the better world !

Unquestioning Surrender ?

“And Jesus (Yehushua) went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying . . . O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me . . . Nevertheless, not My will, but Thine be done !”     Matthew 26:39 & Luke 22:42

“Christ has promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to His church (His children – Acts 7:38) , and the Promise belongs to us as much as to the first disciples.
But like every other promise, it is given on conditions. There are many who believe and profess to claim the Lord’s promise; they talk about Christ and about the Holy Spirit, yet receive no benefit. They do not surrender the soul to be guided and controlled by the divine agencies.

We cannot use the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is to use us. Through the Spirit God works in His people both “to will and to do of His good pleasure.” But many will not submit to this. They want to manage themselves. This is why they do not receive the heavenly Gift. Only to those who wait humbly upon God, who watch for His guidance and grace* (G5485), is the Spirit given. The power of God awaits their demand and reception. This promised Blessing (Galatians 3:14), claimed by faith, brings all other blessings in its train. It is given according to the riches of the grace of Christ, and He is ready to supply every soul according to the capacity to receive.”     –The Desire of Ages, p. 672.  & Christian Service, p.253

The great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which lightens the whole earth with His glory, will not come until we have an enlightened people, that know by experience what it means to be laborers together with God (Philippians 2:13 & Colossians 1:27). When we have entire, wholehearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.”      –Review and Herald, July 21, 1896.  {ChS 253.2}

The Risk of Eternal Loss . . . ?

“It is a question of vital interest to ask ourselves, “Is it well with my soul?”
Christ has paid an infinite price for our redemption. The Lord of glory laid aside His royal robes, and became a man among men. For “though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.”

What a wondrous plan is the plan of Salvation (deliverance, rescue, freedom, healing and restoration). Christ clothed His Divinity with humanity, suffered in the flesh, died a most cruel death (Romans 6:10), that He might reach to the very depths of human woe and misery, and lift men up to a seat upon His throne. Will you be lifted up? Will you be cleansed from the leprosy of sin? Continue reading
