Showers of Blessing . . . why do we expect so little ?

“Therefore . . . being by the right hand of God exalted (Ephesians 1:18-21), and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit . . . . He hath shed forth (gushed out as a fountain, poured forth) this, which ye now see and hear . . .

Then said Peter unto them . . . Repent, and be baptized* (Acts 19:1-8) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins . . . and ye shall receive the gift* (something given freely out of great love for the receiver) of the Holy Spirit . . .      For the Promise is unto you, and to your children . . . and to all that are afar off (yet in the outer court – Ephesians 2:13-14), even as many as the LORD our God shall call . . . !”     Acts 2:33-39

Quote –      “The church is not now the separate and peculiar people she was when the fires of persecution were kindled against her. How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed!     I saw that if the church had always retained her peculiar, holy character, the power of the Holy Spirit which was imparted to the disciples would still be with her. The sick would be healed, devils would be rebuked and cast out, and she would be mighty and a terror to her enemies.”   – Early Writings, p.227

note:   the character and righteousness (innocence, holiness and perfection)  of Christ Jesus is freely ours, if we will through surrender and living (active) faith appropriate it as our very own ! Continue reading

True Christianity – ye must be begotten again !

“Except your righteousness shall exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of heaven . . .”   Matthew 5:20

“Marvel not that I say unto you . . . . Ye MUST be begotten again !”   John 3:3-7

The 10th Commandment ?

ten-commandments-childrenThe Tenth Commandment

When you look at the Ten Commandments, they are pretty straight forward all the way through up to the last one. John was right when he said, “…His commandments are not grievous (too hard, too difficult, not a burden)” (1 John 5:3).

His Commandments are . . .
1 – Have no other gods
2 – Do not worship idols
3 – Do not take His name in vain
4 – Remember the Sabbath day to keep in holy,
5 – Honor your parents
6 – Do not kill (murder)
7 – Do not commit adultery
8 – Do not steal
9 – Do not lie
10 – Do not covet.

Everything is fairly plain and simple until you get to the last one. The last one is very interesting. It says, “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s” (Exodus 20:17). Think about that for a minute. To covet something is to want something you do not have. God had already said, in laws seven and eight, not to take your neighbors wife or anything that belongs to him. Now He says, don’t want (even desire) them . . . ? Continue reading

The power of the Blood of Christ ?

crownofthornsThe Blood of Christ ?

“Grace* and peace unto you (Ephesians 2:13-14) . . . from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne.   And from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful Witness (martyr – Romans 6:10), and the First Begotten of the dead . . . even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8), and the Prince of the kings of the earth . . .

Unto Him that loved us, and washed* us from our sins in His Own blood (Leviticus 17:11 and Isaiah 53:12), and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father . . . to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen !” Revelation 1:4-6

“This then is the message* (pledge of Divine assurance of good) which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.   If we say that we have fellowship with Him (God), and yet walk in darkness* (shadiness, dimness, obscurity), we lie, and do not the Truth . . .

But if we walk in the Light (Psalm 119:105 and John 1:1-14), as He (Christ Jesus) is in the Light, we have fellowship* (association, union) one with Another . . . and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin . . . !”

The Life of Faith and Victory ?

prayer of faith 2 “To believe on Christ is to receive Christ; not to assent to a creed (a mere theory of the Truth), but to accept a Life ! . . .

Marvel not that I say unto you, Ye must be born (begotten) again !”   John 3:7

To all who sincerely pray the prayer, “Create in me a clean heart,” (Psalm 51:10), the reply comes, “Believe ye that I Am able to do this? according to your faith be it unto you . . . !”
Matt. 9:28-29. Continue reading

Come in your need to Christ Jesus –

flowers 1  Those that call upon the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) in humble, fervent prayer, will receive the strength and grace* (G5485 ) that they need to battle with temptation and to endure trials. In coming to God, the petitioner must present Christ as his authority, Christ’s merit (worthiness) as his plea; and when these conditions are fulfilled, God has pledged His Word that heaven is open unto the cries of the penitent and humble soul.

The enemy will come to you, and say, “It is of no use for you to pray. Did you not do that evil thing?   Have you not transgressed against God? Have you not violated your conscience?” Answer him, “Yes; but Christ has bidden me pray. He has said, ‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and He is Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9

The Work of Faith ?

mountain2     “To HIM that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth (to render, show or regard as innocent, just and righteous) the ungodly, his faith is counted for (as) righteousness.”     Romans 4:5

Salvation is not a thing which we earn by our own good works, but rather it is a free gift from our Father in heaven, through Jesus Christ . . . . and the works of righteousness are but the fruits of the indwelling of His promised Holy Spirit . . .

And this greatest of gifts is given us through faith that He will fulfill that which He has promised !

For it is God Who works in you, both to will, and to do of His good pleasure . . . !” “For Thou also hast wrought all our works in us . . . O LORD our God !”   Philippians 2:13 & Isaiah 26:12

For Our Sake Also !

“ O Trembling soul, say not that your sins are so many and that you are so weak that there is no hope for you. Christ came to save the lost, and He is able to save to the uttermost those that come to God by Him (Hebrews 7:25). You are weak, but He says, “My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12:9. And the inspired record tells us of those who “out of weakness were made strong !” Heb. 11:34.

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities (weaknesses), that the power of Christ (Moshiac) may Rest upon me . . . !” Continue reading

Saving Faith ?

Turn us again, O God (Elohim), and cause Thy Face to shine; and we shall be saved !  O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt Thou be angry against the prayer of Thy people ? . . . Mine eyes fail for Thy Salvation (H3444), and for the Word of Thy Righteousness !”   Psalm 80:3-4 & 119:123

“Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you that feareth God (Jehovah, Yehuwah), to you is the Word of this Salvation sent . . . in Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of Truth, the Glad Tidings of your Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing and restoration) . . . !”

The Unpardonable Sin ?

O Israel, return unto the LORD (Yehuwah) thy God (Elohim – Almighty One); for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity (perversity and mischief). Take with you words, and turn unto the LORD: say unto Him, Take away all iniquity, and receive me graciously, and so will I render the Praise of my lips . . . .                           Hosea 14:1-4

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah), and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD !                                Isaiah 55:6-11

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy (Satan): when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a Light unto me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against Him, until He plead my cause, and He executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the Light, and I shall behold His Righteousness !”                                                                                                                                                                Micah 7:7-9
