Simple Living (active) Faith ?

rainbow 2a    “Believe that Jesus meets with you (and dwells within you . . . because He has promised); believe that He is willing to bless you. Turn the eye away from self (your own weakness). Look unto Jesus, talk of His matchless love. By beholding Him you will become changed into His likeness. When you pray, be brief, come right to the point. Do not preach the Lord a sermon in your long prayers. Ask for the Bread of Life (His Spirit-filled promises – John 6:27-50) as a hungry child asks bread of his earthly father. God will bestow upon us every needed blessing if we ask Him in simplicity and faith.”
– Counsels to the Church, p.294

“True faith lays hold of and claims the promised Blessing before it is realized and felt. We must send up our petitions in faith within the second veil and let our faith take hold of the promised blessing and claim it as ours (Galatians 3:14). We are then to believe that we receive the blessing, because our faith has hold of it, and according to the Word it is ours. “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them !”
Mark 11:24 and Hebrews 11:1-6

Here is faith, naked faith, to believe that we receive the blessing (the promise spoken), even before we realize it. When the promised blessing is realized and enjoyed, faith is swallowed up. But many suppose they have much faith when sharing largely of the Holy Spirit and that they cannot have faith unless they feel the power of the Spirit. Swallpaper-2995113uch confound faith with the blessing that comes through faith. The very time to exercise faith is when we feel destitute of the Spirit.

When thick clouds of darkness seem to hover over the mind, then is the time to let living (active) faith pierce the darkness and scatter the clouds. True faith rests on the promises contained in the Word of God, and those only who obey that Word can claim its glorious promises. If ye abide in Me, and My Words . . . which are Spirit and Life . . . abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you !” John 15:7 and 6:63.

“Whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:22.      We should be much in secret prayer. Christ is the Vine, ye (we) are the branches. And if we would grow and flourish, we must continually draw sap and nourishment from the Living Vine (John 15:1-7); for separated from the Vine we have no strength !

I asked the angel why there was no more faith and power in Israel. He said, “Ye let go of the arm of the Lord too soon. Press your petitions to the throne, and hold on by strong faith (Matthew 11:12 and Luke 18:3-8). The promises are sure. Believe ye Guardian Angelreceive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24

I was then pointed to Elijah. He was subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly. His faith endured the trial. Seven times he prayed before the LORD, and at last the cloud was seen.      I saw that we had doubted the sure promises, and wounded the Saviour by our lack of faith. Said the angel, “Gird the armor about thee, and above all take the shield of faith; for that will guard the heart, the very life, from the fiery darts (lies – John 8:44) of the wicked.”

If the enemy can lead the desponding to take their eyes off from Jesus, and look to themselves, and dwell upon their own unworthiness, instead of dwelling upon the worthiness (merits, righteousness) of Jesus as our Substitute and Surety, His love, His merits, and His great mercy, he will get away their shield of faith and gain his object; they will be exposed to his fiery temptations. The weak should therefore look to Jesus, and believe in Him (the Word of Almighty God); they then exercise (step forward, and walk out in) faith . . .”

O Men of God, Arise !

“Thou therefore, my son (and my daughter), be strong in the grace* (G5485 – divine Influence) that is in Christ Jesus . . .

Endure hardness (conflict, adversity), as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. For no man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life (this world) . . . . so that he may please Him Who hath chosen him to be a soldier . . .”

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood (not even our own), but against principalities, and against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the heavens (ref: Ephesians 2:2) . . .

Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God (Theos – Deity, divinity), that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all . . . to stand !”

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (weak, fleshly), but mighty* (full of power) through God, to the pulling down of strongholds, yea, casting down imaginations, and every high thing which exalts itself (Isaiah 14:12-16 and Revelation 12:7-11) against the knowing of God . . . . And bringing into captivity every thought to the perfect obedience of Christ . . . !”

To Heal the Broken Hearted !

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD (Adoni Yehuvee’) is upon Me . . . for He hath anointed Me to proclaim Glad Tidings unto the meek, He hath sent Me to bind up (heal) the brokenhearted . . . to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound . . . !” Isaiah 63:1-4 and Luke 4:18-19

For the LORD hath appeared of old unto Me, saying . . .
Yea, I have love thee ________ (your name) with an everlasting love, therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee unto Me.   Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel . . . thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets (tambourines), and thou shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry . . .

For behold, I Am the God (Elohim – Mighty One) of all flesh, is there anything  too hard for Me . . . ?”   Jeremiah 31:3-4 and 32:27, 38-42

The Victory which is Ours in Christ !

bethesda“But none of the ransomed ever knew
How deep were the waters crossed,
Nor how dark was the night that the (our) Lord passed
     through . . .
Ere He found His sheep that was lost.
Far out in the desert He heard its cry–
Fainting and helpless, and ready to die . . .”

More than Conquerors through Christ Jesus !

“And they overcame him (the dragon) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony . . . and they loved not their own lives even unto death !”
Revelation 12:10-11

“Like the twelve apostles, the seventy disciples whom Christ sent forth later received supernatural endowments as a seal of their mission (a mark, a sign of the power and authority with which they had been vested – Luke 9:1-6) .

When their work was completed, they returned with joy, saying, “Lord (Sovereign, King), even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name !” Jesus answered, “Why are you surprised, for I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”     Luke 10:17-18  and  Revelation 12:7-10.

Henceforth Christ’s followers are to look upon Satan as a conquered foe. Upon the cross, Jesus was to gain the victory for them; and that victory He desired them (desires us) to accept as their (our) own. “Behold,” He said, “I give unto you ___________ (your name) power* to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy . . . and nothing shall by any means hurt you !”
Luke 10:19 and 9:1-6 and Mark 16:15-20

The omnipotent power of the Holy Spirit . . . the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life ! . . . (John 6:63 & 14:10-11) is the defense of every contrite soul. No one who in penitence and faith has claimed His protection will Christ permit to pass under the enemy’s power.

“The LORD is nigh* (near, allied, of kin, kinsman, ready, at hand) unto them that are of a broken heart, and He saveth* (to open wide, set free, to defend, succor, to deliver, rescue, to give victory) such as be of a contrite spirit (mind) . . . !”
Psalm 34:18

“Plead my cause, O LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah), with them that strive with me . . . fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler (sword), and stand up for mine help. Draw out also Thy spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me; Say unto my soul . . . I Am thy Salvation !”
Psalm 35:1-3

“O Lord (Adoni – Sovereign, King), open Thou my lips, and my mouth shall shew forth Thy praise . . . For Thou desirest not sacrifice else would I give it: Thou delightest not in burnt offering (Hebrews 10:4-7). For the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: yea, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise . . .

Do good in Thy good pleasure unto Zion, yea, build Thou the walls of Jerusalem (Daniel 9:19 and Revelation 21:12-17). For then shalt Thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, yea, with burnt offering and whole burnt offerings. Then shall they offer bullocks (selfishness, pride – bull-headed) upon Thine altar . . .”
Psalm 51:15-19

“For thus saith the High and Lofty One that inhabiteth eternity . . . Whose name is holy; I dwell in the high (elevated, most) and holy (sacred, an Angel, a saint, sanctuary) place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit (mind) . . . To revive the spirit of the humble* (Matthew 11:28-30 and John 8:28), and to revive (to quicken, to recover, to restore Life in) the heart of the contrite ones !” Isaiah 57:15

It is true that Satan is a powerful being; but, thank God, we have a Mighty Saviour, Who cast out the evil one from heaven. Satan is pleased when we magnify his power. Why not talk of Jesus? Why not magnify His power and His love?

rainbow 2a     The rainbow of promise encircling the throne on high is an everlasting testimony that “God so loved this world, that He gave up His Only-Begotten Son . . . that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting Life !” John 3:16. It testifies to the universe that God will never forsake His children in the struggle with evil. It is an assurance to us of strength and protection as long as the throne itself shall endure. –

“And they overcame him (the dragon) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony . . . and they loved not their own lives even unto death !”
Revelation 12:10-11

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession* (to profess, to speak aloud) is made unto Salvation* (deliverance, rescue, freedom, healing and restoration) …For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him (The Word of God) shall not be put to shame . . . !”

The Joy of Our Lord – the Ninty and Nine

The_Good_Shepherd_and_The_Cloudy_SkyThere were ninety and nine that safely lay
In the shelter of the fold,

But one was out on the hills away,
Far, far from the gates of gold–
Away on the mountains wild and bare,
Away from the tender Shepherd’s care.

“Lord, Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine;
Are they not enough for Thee ?”
But the Shepherd made answer . . . “One of Mine
Has wandered away from Me,

And although the road be rough and steep,
I go to the desert to find My sheep.”

But none of the ransomed ever knew
How deep were the waters crossed,
Nor how dark was the night that the Lord passed
through . . .
Ere He found His sheep that was lost.

Far out in the desert He heard its cry–
Fainting and helpless, and ready to die.

Lord, whence are these blood drops all the way
That mark out the mountain’s track ?”

“They were shed for one who had gone astray,
Ere the Shepherd could bring him back.”

“Lord, why are Thy hands so rent and torn ?”
“They were pierced tonight by many a thorn.”

But all through the mountains, thunder-riven,
And up from the rocky steep,
There rose a cry to the gate of heaven,
“Rejoice, I have found My sheep!”

And the angels sang around the throne,
“Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own!”

Our Wilderness Like Eden . . . !

“For the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) shall comfort Zion . . . Yea, He will comfort all her waste places. He will make her (your) wilderness like Eden, and her deserts (your dry and barren grounds) like the garden of the LORD . . . . Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody !”     Isaiah 51:1-3

“Then the heathen (unbelievers) that are left round about you ________ (your name) shall know . . . that I the LORD build the ruined places, and I plant that which was desolate . . .   For I the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) have spoken it, and I will do it !”
Ezekiel 36:36

Who was Easter ?

“The renowned Oxford English Dictionary informs us that the name Easter is derived from the name of a goddess whose festival was celebrated at the time of the vernal equinox. We are told that she was originally known as the dawn goddess – no doubt the origin of sunrise celebrations at the time of Easter.

According to Venerable Bede, a seventh century Anglo-Saxon theologian, the English word Easter is derived from the name of the pagan fertility goddess Eostra. He tells us that “the heathen Anglo-Saxons called the fourth month “Esturmonath” after their goddess Eostra – another name representing the spring fertility goddesses such as Astarte or Ashtaroth, the goddess who was introduced into the British Isles by the Druids. In all actuality Easter is just another name for Beltis or Ishtar of the ancient Babylonians and can be traced all the way back to Hathor, the cow goddess of Egypt that was associated with the building of the golden calf at Mt. Sinai. Continue reading

I am not Ashamed of the Glad Tidings of Christ !

OXYGEN VOLUME 13“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto Salvation (deliverance, rescue, freedom, healing and restoration), to every one that believeth . . . . For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to greater faith: as it is written . . . The Just shall live by faith !”     Romans 1:16-17

The gospel (Glad Tidings) must be received (believed, and appropriated by faith as our own) in order to regenerate the heart . . .”     – Our High Calling, p.104

As the Holy Spirit saith . . . Today, if ye will hear His Voice, and harden not your hearts, in unbelief . . . For unto us were the Glad Tidings proclaimed, as well as unto them, but the Word preached (proclaimed) did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it !”     Hebrews 3:7-8 & 4:2

Freedom & Victory from Sin ?

captives freeBeing then (now) made free from sin, ye became (have become) servants of righteousness . . . !”   Romans 6:16-23

“ Through yielding to sin, man placed his will under the control of Satan. He became a helpless captive in the tempter’s power. God sent His Son into our world to break the power of Satan, and to emancipate the will of man. He sent Him to proclaim liberty (freedom) to the captives, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free !

“For it shall come to pass in that day,* that his burden shall be taken away (Romans 7:1-24) from off thy shoulder, and his (Adam’s – Romans 5:12-19) yoke from off thy neck . . . and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the Anointing !”     Isaiah 10:27

The Ninety and Nine . . . ?

lostsheep ”And He (Jesus, Yehushua) spake this parable unto them, saying . . . . What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that one which is lost, until he find it?     And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing (ref: Zephaniah 3:14-17) !

the Root of Bitterness ?

free from bitterness 001     “. . . So likewise shall My Father in heaven do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses (error, sin or willful transgression) !”

How to be Free from Bitterness ! – (PDF)  click here to read the full text

“Before we can get rid of bitterness, we have to realize that we are bitter. How can we tell if we are bitter?  One good rule of thumb is this: Bitterness remembers details. You have had thousands of conversations in your life, most of which you have forgotten. But this one took place five years ago, and you remember every single word, his intonation, and the inflection of every part of his voice. You know exactly what happened—which means you are bitter.

Someone might object and say that it is also possible to have a good memory of a wonderful conversation. Is this possible? Yes, but not likely. Why is this? Because memory is helped by review, review, and more review

People do not usually mull over the wonderful things as much. But they do go over and over and over the bad things. I have done quite a bit of counseling with people who are in the process of getting divorced. I have known some since the time they were married, at a happier time in their life. But at the time of the divorce they cannot remember a single happy time. All they can remember is that which they have gone over and over. They are bitter . . . !”

“Let all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice be put away (taken away, removed) from you. And be ye kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as God for Christ’s sake forgave you. Be ye therefore followers of God, as dearly loved children and walk (live a life of ) in love, just as Christ also hath loved us and given himself for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God . . . !” Ephesians 4:31-5:2
