Simple Living (active) Faith ?

rainbow 2a    “Believe that Jesus meets with you (and dwells within you . . . because He has promised); believe that He is willing to bless you. Turn the eye away from self (your own weakness). Look unto Jesus, talk of His matchless love. By beholding Him you will become changed into His likeness. When you pray, be brief, come right to the point. Do not preach the Lord a sermon in your long prayers. Ask for the Bread of Life (His Spirit-filled promises – John 6:27-50) as a hungry child asks bread of his earthly father. God will bestow upon us every needed blessing if we ask Him in simplicity and faith.”
– Counsels to the Church, p.294

“True faith lays hold of and claims the promised Blessing before it is realized and felt. We must send up our petitions in faith within the second veil and let our faith take hold of the promised blessing and claim it as ours (Galatians 3:14). We are then to believe that we receive the blessing, because our faith has hold of it, and according to the Word it is ours. “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them !”
Mark 11:24 and Hebrews 11:1-6

Here is faith, naked faith, to believe that we receive the blessing (the promise spoken), even before we realize it. When the promised blessing is realized and enjoyed, faith is swallowed up. But many suppose they have much faith when sharing largely of the Holy Spirit and that they cannot have faith unless they feel the power of the Spirit. Swallpaper-2995113uch confound faith with the blessing that comes through faith. The very time to exercise faith is when we feel destitute of the Spirit.

When thick clouds of darkness seem to hover over the mind, then is the time to let living (active) faith pierce the darkness and scatter the clouds. True faith rests on the promises contained in the Word of God, and those only who obey that Word can claim its glorious promises. If ye abide in Me, and My Words . . . which are Spirit and Life . . . abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you !” John 15:7 and 6:63.

“Whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:22.      We should be much in secret prayer. Christ is the Vine, ye (we) are the branches. And if we would grow and flourish, we must continually draw sap and nourishment from the Living Vine (John 15:1-7); for separated from the Vine we have no strength !

I asked the angel why there was no more faith and power in Israel. He said, “Ye let go of the arm of the Lord too soon. Press your petitions to the throne, and hold on by strong faith (Matthew 11:12 and Luke 18:3-8). The promises are sure. Believe ye Guardian Angelreceive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24

I was then pointed to Elijah. He was subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly. His faith endured the trial. Seven times he prayed before the LORD, and at last the cloud was seen.      I saw that we had doubted the sure promises, and wounded the Saviour by our lack of faith. Said the angel, “Gird the armor about thee, and above all take the shield of faith; for that will guard the heart, the very life, from the fiery darts (lies – John 8:44) of the wicked.”

If the enemy can lead the desponding to take their eyes off from Jesus, and look to themselves, and dwell upon their own unworthiness, instead of dwelling upon the worthiness (merits, righteousness) of Jesus as our Substitute and Surety, His love, His merits, and His great mercy, he will get away their shield of faith and gain his object; they will be exposed to his fiery temptations. The weak should therefore look to Jesus, and believe in Him (the Word of Almighty God); they then exercise (step forward, and walk out in) faith . . .”

The Mighty Power of God –

peter-john-and-lame-man-1426804-printWhy Not Now ?
BYJ.E.SWIFT

THERE was a time when the servants of God had power with Him, and prevailed. In the first century, when the disciples of Jesus prayed, the earth trembled (Acts 4 : 31), and the Holy Spirit, like a flaming tongue of fire, rested upon them. Acts 2:3. When they preached a risen Saviour, men’s hard hearts melted, and they inquired, “Men and brethren, what shall we do ?” Acts 2:37.

There was a time when those who were diseased sought unto the Mighty Healer, instead of sending for the vender of pills and powders; and when a humble fisherman could stand by the side of the lifeless form and say, “Tabitha, arise,” and the dead would live again. Acts 9:40.

These things were common once; why not now ? Where does the Bible tell us that they must cease to be? —Nowhere.   On the contrary. Jesus tells us that “these signs shall follow them that believe.” He says, “In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up* (loose the hold of) serpents; and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.” Mark 16:17-18.

Again: “He that believeth on Me (the Word of God), the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father . . . !”   John 14:12

These promises are sure to them that believe. Brethren, the trouble with many of us is that we do not have faith. We ought to be thankful that God in his infinite mercy has bestowed upon us as a people some of the precious gifts of his Spirit; but He is willing to bestow upon us all the gifts of His Spirit just as soon as we place ourselves in a position where He can consistently do so.      Let us search our hearts in the light of His Word and the testimonies of His Spirit, and let us return unto God, and see if He will not return unto us. The work is fast closing up. Soon the night cometh, wherein no man can work. We mean to be whole-hearted sometime; why not now ?

To Heal the Broken Hearted !

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD (Adoni Yehuvee’) is upon Me . . . for He hath anointed Me to proclaim Glad Tidings unto the meek, He hath sent Me to bind up (heal) the brokenhearted . . . to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound . . . !” Isaiah 63:1-4 and Luke 4:18-19

For the LORD hath appeared of old unto Me, saying . . .
Yea, I have love thee ________ (your name) with an everlasting love, therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee unto Me.   Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel . . . thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets (tambourines), and thou shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry . . .

For behold, I Am the God (Elohim – Mighty One) of all flesh, is there anything  too hard for Me . . . ?”   Jeremiah 31:3-4 and 32:27, 38-42

Yea, I Am . . . Thy Salvation !

“And this is the name whereby He shall be called . . . THE LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS !”
Jeremiah 23:5-6

May we each by the grace and power of God . . . sound His Mighty name unto the ends of the earth. And may we each also enter with Him by faith into His glorious Rest (Exodus 31:17, Isaiah 28:12 and Hebrews 3:7-19 and 4:1-10), promised us from the foundation of the world . . . !

The Righteousness Of Faith !

“For the Promise, that He should be the heir of the world . . . was not to Abraham, or to his Seed* through the law, but through the righteousness of faith !”
Romans 4:13-21 and ref: Galatians 3:16 and 3:27-29

“Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of Justification* by faith is the third angel’s message, and I have answered . . . It is the third angel’s message in verity !

The prophet declares, “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.” Brightness, glory, and power are to be connected with the third angel’s message (Revelation 14), and conviction will follow wherever it is preached in demonstration of the Spirit.

How will any of our brethren know when this Light shall come to the people of God? As yet, we certainly have not seen the Light that answers to this description. God has Light for His people, and all who will accept it will see the sinfulness of remaining in a lukewarm condition . . . !”
– Review & Herald, April 1, 1890

“What is Justification* (to declare, to render innocent, holy and righteous) by faith? It is the work of God in laying the glory of man in the dust, and doing for man that which it is not in his power to do for himself.

Cleansing of the Temple of the Heart ?

temple 2     “What?  know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (John 4:24) which is in you . . . which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”   I Corinthians 6:19-20

“In the cleansing of the temple, Jesus was announcing His mission as the Messiah, and entering upon His work. That temple, erected for the abode of the divine Presence, was designed to be an object lesson for Israel and for the world. From eternal ages it was God’s purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator.
Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a temple for God. Darkened and defiled by evil, the heart of man no longer revealed the glory of the Divine One. But by the incarnation of the Son of God (His becoming a man), the purpose of Heaven is fulfilled. God dwells in humanity, and through saving grace* (G5485 – the Divine Influence) the heart of man becomes again His temple . . .

He is willing and able to Save !

TheLeper

The Leper Cleansed in Luke chapter 5

“Christ was strong to save the whole world. He wanted all. He could not endure the thought that one should be lost. He wept at the grave of Lazarus, that He could not save every one whom Satan’s power had laid low in death. He had given Himself a ransom for many, even all who would avail themselves of the privilege of coming back to their loyalty to God. John, pointing to Him, had said, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world !”

And in all this conflict with the powers of evil, there was ever before Christ the darkened shadow into which He Himself must enter. Ever before Him was the price which He must pay for the ransom of these souls. As He witnessed the sufferings of the human race, He knew that He must bear a greater pain, mingled with mockery; that He must suffer the greatest humiliation. When He raised Lazarus from the dead, He knew that for that life He must pay the ransom on the cross of Calvary. Every rescue made was to cause Him the deepest humiliation. He was to taste death for every man.
ref: Hebrews 2:9

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death (dying unto sin) He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil. .And deliver them who through fear of (and) death were all there lifetime subject to bondage . . . !”     Hebrews 2:14-15, ref: Romans 6:10

Sin and the Curse of the Law ?

Salvation_400     “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse (accursed – without hope of pardon or redemption) for us . . . . For it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree . . . !”
Galatians 3:13 & ref: Deuteronomy 21:23

“Who His Own Self bare our sins (faithless transgression of God’s Law) in His Own body on the tree . . . . so that we being now dead to sins, should live unto righteousness . . . and by Whose stripes ye were healed !”   I Peter 2:24, Romans 6:1-6 & Isaiah 53:4-6

Begotten Again ? – sons and daughters of the Living God

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord (Sovereign King) Jesus Christ . . . . which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively (Living) hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead . . .” I Peter 1:3

And Jesus says to you and I, Marvel not that I say unto thee, Ye must be born (begotten again) . . . . For except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God !” John 3:7, 3

This is the very essence of the Gospel, the condition upon which all our Salvation (deliverance, freedom and healing) and Redemption hangs. And it is this greatest of Promises, which our Lord and Saviour desires each of us to understand and to know personally by experience. . . . that we might become truly “sons and daughters” of the Most High !      ref: II Corinthians 6:14-18

New Light Yet to Shine ?

10 commandments & Jesus     “Here is to be found the secret of the lack of the Spirit and power of God in the revivals of our time !”

“If we would have the Spirit and power of the third angel’s message, we must present the law and the gospel (Glad Tidings) together, for they go hand in hand . . . .

As a power from beneath is stirring up the children of disobedience to make void the law of God, and to trample upon the faith of Christ as our righteousness, a power from above is moving upon the hearts of those who are loyal, to exalt the law . . . . and to lift up Jesus as a complete Saviour !”                    – Gospel Workers 1892, p.103

Now unto Him that is able . . . to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence (that is verily before His throne) of His glory with exceeding joy . . . !”   Jude 1:24 and ref: Hebrews 4:114-16 & Zephaniah3:14-17
