A Temple for Our God ?

court-yard-2   “What?  know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God . . . and ye are not your own?

Therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit (mind), which are God’s . . . for you have been purchased from slavery to sin, at an infinite price . . . !” I Corinthians 6:15-20 and ref: I Peter 1:18-19*

“When Moses was about to build the sanctuary as a dwelling place for God, he was directed to make all things according to the Pattern shown him in the mount . . . .

But Israel had chosen their own ways. They had not builded according to the Pattern; but Christ, the True temple for God’s indwelling, molded every detail of His earthly life in harmony with God’s ideal. He said, “I delight to do Thy will, O My God: yea, Thy law is within My heart.” Psalm 40:8.

So our characters are to be builded “for an habitation of God through the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:22. And we are to “make all things according to the Pattern,” even Him Who “suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps.” Hebrews 8:5 & 1 Peter 2:21.     – Desire of Ages, p.209 Continue reading

The Truth About Christmas ?

“I charge you therefore before God, and the Lord (our Sovereign King) Jesus Christ . . . Who shall judge the quick (living) and the dead at His soon appearing . . . Preach the Word; be instant in season, and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine . . .

For the time will come when they (the church) will not endure sound doctrine (teaching, instruction from God’s Word) . . . . But after their own lusts (carnal, worldly desires) shall they heap to themselves teachers, which have itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the Truth (God’s Word – John 17:17), and shall be turned unto fables . . . !”     II Timothy 4:1-4

We encourage every son and daughter of the LORD God,Almighty to seek Light from the Word of Truth, and search the Scriptures for themselves. Let us examine all that we do, and all that we call Christian in the Light of God’s Word, lest we be found futilely attempting to justify pagan practices in the name of Christ Jesus.

I have shared a few good resource sites below, and also encourage each of us to stand for Truth, regardless of what others choose to do . . .

Warren Smith – The New Age Influence on Christianity ?

Part.1

This know also, that in the last days . . . . perilous times shall come. For  . . . evil man and seducers (wizards, imposters) shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived . . . !”   II Timothy 3:1,13

“There is but One power that can break the hold of evil from the hearts of men, and that is the power of God in Jesus Christ. Only through the blood (Life – Leviticus 17:11) of the Crucified One is there cleansing from sin (Romans 6:10). His grace* alone can enable us to resist and subdue the tendencies of our fallen nature. The spiritualistic theories concerning God make His grace* of no effect. If God is an “essence” pervading all nature, then He dwells in all men; and in order to attain holiness, man has only to develop the power within himself.

These theories, followed to their logical conclusion, sweep away the whole Christian economy (plan of Salvation). They do away with the necessity for the atonement and make man his own savior.     These theories regarding God make His Word of no effect and those who accept them are in great danger of being led finally to look upon the whole Bible as a fiction. . . . !”

The Exodus Movie – Re-examined ?

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter . . . . Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God (Elohim – the Mighty One), than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ as greater riches than the treasures in Egypt . . . . for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward !

By faith, he forsook Egypt . . . and faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God . . .  not fearing the wrath of the king . . . for God hath not given unto us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love (self-sacrifice), and of a sound mind . . . . For He endured, as seeing Him that is invisible !       ref: Romans 10:17 & II Timothy 1:7

Through faith (in Jehovah’s promise of a Lamb slain from the foundation of the world), he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood . . . lest He that destroyed the first born of Egypt (Matthew 10:28) should touch them. And by faith they (the children of Abraham) passed through the Red Sea as by dry land . . . . which the Egyptians assaying (attempting) to do were drowned . . .

And what more shall I say?
For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and of Samuel, and the prophets . . . . who through faith, subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, and stopped the mouths of lions . . . . Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with (surrounded by) so great a cloud of witness of God’s unfailing love and power . . . Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience (Hebrews 10:23) the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the Author and the Finisher of our faith . . . . For He is faithful that hath promised . . . !”   Hebrews 11:23-40, 12:14, 11:11 & ref: II Corinthians 1:20

Moses had been learning much that he must unlearn. The influences that had surrounded him in Egypt . . . .

The Righteousness of God – how It is obtained ?

Abraham's prayer     “Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted unto him for (as) righteousness . . . Know ye therefore, that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham !”   “And if children, then heirs . . . heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ . . . !”   Galatians 3:6-7 & Romans 8:17

Righteousness is the “state of him who is as he ought to be,… integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness,
correctness of thinking, feeling, and acting” (Thayer’s Greek Lexicon). This is a high standard to live up to. Paul calls it something we hope for. He wrote, “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith” (Galatians 5:5).

We can hope to have righteousness, but it only comes by faith.

Righteousness is the state of being pure; of thinking, feeling and acting correctly. Jesus put it this way, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). This is a seemingly unreachable goal. How can you be as perfect as our Father in heaven? The Bible tells us, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…” (Isaiah 64:6). There must be something more to this picture . . . ?
