A Former Witch Doctor Shares His Thoughts About Pokémon
By Danique Tersmette, Little Light Studios,
September 26, 2016

There was only one thing in the world for which a 7-year old Dutch girl would get up at 6 am and turn on the TV: Pokémon. Even though I was not raised a Christian, my parents did not like the idea of me and my brother watching animals fighting each other. Too much aggression, they said. So the only option was to sneak out of bed, turn on the TV and watch Pokémon before my parents would wake up. They became a bit more mellow later on, and my brother was allowed to have Pokémon cards. I even borrowed a Pokémon Diamond game for the Nintendo GameBoy Color from a friend (which I forgot to return and kept for years). My childhood truly was all about Pokémon. But we all get older, and I had already forgotten about these little creatures. But then came Pokémon Go. Is the world hooked? Not a doubt.

During staff worship at It Is Written ministry this morning someone shared a true story told by a former witchdoctor that I found quite shocking, and I think it’s a story worth sharing . . . Continue reading

Justified by Faith Alone !

bethesdaBut it is a faith which works by love . . .

Now it was not written for his (Abraham’s) sake alone . . . But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed (reckoned), if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord (Sovereign King) from the dead . . .      Who was delivered (given up) for our offenses,* (ref: Romans 8:31-34) and was raised again for our justification. Therefore . . . being justified* by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ !”                                                    Romans 4:17-25 and 5:1, 12-19 and 6:1-6

Justified (H6663) = to make clear, to cleanse, to make righteousness
(G1344, 1342) = to render, declare just, innocent, free, holy, and righteous !

The Lord would have His people sound in the faith– not ignorant of the great Salvation so abundantly provided for them. They are not to look forward, thinking that at some future time a great work is to be done for them; for the work is now complete !

The believer is not called upon to make his peace with God; he never has nor ever can do this. He is to accept Christ as his Peace, for with Christ is God and peace.      Christ made an end of sin, bearing its heavy curse in His own body on the tree (II Peter 1:24), and He hath taken away the curse from all those who believe in Him as a personal Saviour (Galatians 3:8-14). He makes an end of the controlling power of sin in the heart, and the life and character of the believer testify to the genuine character of the grace* (G5485) of Christ.

Our Freedom – Signed in Blood !

rejoice2     “Jesus knows the circumstances of every soul. The greater the sinner’s guilt, the more he needs the Saviour. His heart of divine love and sympathy is drawn out most of all for the one who is the most hopelessly entangled in the snares of the enemy. With His own blood He has signed the emancipation papers of the race . . .

“Forasmuch as ye know . . . that ye were not redeemed (ransomed, purchased, atonement, bought back) with corruptible things, such as silver and gold, from your vain conversation (lives of vanity, wasted efforts at your own salvation), received by tradition from your fathers . . . . But with the precious blood* (Life) of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot . . . !”     I Peter 1:18-19

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls . . . for it is the blood (Life) that maketh an atonement for the soul . . . !”   Leviticus 17:10-11 and ref: John 20:17 and Hebrews 10:4-20 Continue reading

Warning – a Biblical Review of The Hunger Games ?

hunger game books     “This know also . . . that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy . . . without natural affection (toward parents, spouse or children), trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (without any self-control), fierce . . . . despisers of those that are good !”     II Timothy 3:1-5

THE HUNGER GAMES is a dark movie where viewers literally watch children kill each other in bloody fashion. With its humanist worldview, THE HUNGER GAMES has no depiction of God or the supernatural world. It’s all up to the movie’s heroine to win the game, but she has to lie and hurt other people to win. Based on a popular book, THE HUNGER GAMES is a science fiction thriller with a big budget. That means even more young people will see it. THE HUNGER GAMES is one movie that parents might want their children to avoid.”
