“I feel the most intense anguish for our youth. I warn you, as one who knows the danger, not to be entrapped by Satan through the little knowledge of science which you may have acquired. It is better to have a pure and humble heart than all the knowledge you can possibly gain without the fear of the Lord.

The youth of today will be likely to meet skeptics and infidels wherever they may go, and how necessary that they be equipped, so that they may be able to give a reason of their hope with meekness and fear. Thomas Paine has passed into his grave, but his works live to curse the world, and those who doubt the Truth of God’s Word, will place these infidel productions in the hands of the young and inexperienced, to fill their hearts with the poisonous atmosphere of doubt. The spirit of Satan works through wicked men to carry on his schemes for the ruin of souls.

We are living in an age of licentiousness, and men and youth are bold in sin. Unless our youth are sacredly guarded, unless they are fortified with firm principles, unless greater care is manifested in choosing their associates and the literature which feeds the mind, they will be exposed to a society whose morals are as corrupt as were the morals of the inhabitants of Sodom. The appearance of the people of the world may be very attractive, but if they are continually throwing out suggestions against the Bible, they are dangerous companions; for they will ever seek to undermine the foundations of your faith, to corrupt the conscientiousness of old-fashioned, gospel religion.

“Satan assigns to each of his angels a part to act. He enjoins upon them all to be sly, artful, cunning. He instructs some of them to act the part of the apostles and to speak for them, while others are to act the part of infidels and wicked men who died cursing God, but now appear to be very religious. There is no difference made between the most holy apostles and the vilest infidel. They are both made to teach the same thing. It matters not whom Satan makes to speak, if his object is only accomplished. He was so intimately connected with [Thomas] Paine upon the earth, aiding him in his work, that it is an easy thing for him to know the very words Paine used and the very handwriting of one who served him so faithfully and accomplished his purposes so well. Satan dictated much of his writings, and it is an easy thing for him to dictate sentiments through his angels now and make it appear that they come through Thomas Paine, who, while living, was a devoted servant of the evil one. This is the masterpiece of Satan. All this teaching, purporting to be from apostles and saints and wicked men who have died, comes directly from his satanic majesty.

The fact that Satan claims that one whom he loved so well, and who hated God so perfectly, is now with the holy apostles and angels in glory, should be enough to remove the veil from all minds and discover to them the dark, mysterious works of Satan. He virtually says to the world and to infidels, No matter how wicked you are, no matter whether you believe or disbelieve in God or the Bible, live as you please, heaven is your home; for all know that if Thomas Paine is in heaven, and so exalted, they will surely get there. This error is so glaring that all may see if they will. Satan is now doing through persons like Thomas Paine what he has been trying to do since his fall. He is, through his power and lying wonders, tearing away the foundation of the Christian’s hope and putting out the sun that is to light them in the narrow way to heaven. He is making the world believe that the Bible is uninspired, no better than a storybook, while he holds out something to take its place; namely, spiritual manifestations!”

The Origins of Easter ?

easter eggs 2A powerful article from Amazing Discoveries –

Easter is known for its bunny rabbits, colored eggs, hot cross buns, and the return of springtime. But where did Easter come from?

Few people realize that Easter is not about the resurrection of Christ. The only time the word “Easter” is found in the Bible (Acts 12:4), it is there by mistranslation. The word in the original Greek is “Passover.” Jesus died at the time of the Passover feast, but the Passover is not Easter and Jesus did not die at Easter time. Easter is an ancient spring festival. Long before the time of Christ, the pagan goddess Ishtar, or sometimes known as Astarte or Ashtoreth, was worshiped in different countries. Our modern practice of sunrise worship originates from the pagan festival honoring Ishtar. The story of Easter also helps explain how Sunday became sacred and the origin of virgin worship. His Life and Victory is Ours !

Christ wilderness 2     “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us . . . !”     Romans 8:37

Today Satan is carrying forward zealously his work of temptation, and he will make many conquests over those who are not watching unto prayer. Christ was tempted in all points as we are tempted. Let those who are bowed down under trial and temptation, and who feel that their friends have forsaken them, think of Christ, of Whom God said, “This is My Beloved Son,” alone in the wilderness, meeting temptations more severe than any that are brought against them.

Let them not give up in despair, but reach out a trembling hand of faith to grasp the Hand that is held out to save (Isaiah 42:1-7 & 40:26-31).      Let them cast their helpless souls upon Jesus, Who, because He has passed over the ground knows how to deliver them that are tempted . . . .

The Righteousness of God – how It is obtained ?

Abraham's prayer     “Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted unto him for (as) righteousness . . . Know ye therefore, that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham !”   “And if children, then heirs . . . heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ . . . !”   Galatians 3:6-7 & Romans 8:17

Righteousness is the “state of him who is as he ought to be,… integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness,
correctness of thinking, feeling, and acting” (Thayer’s Greek Lexicon). This is a high standard to live up to. Paul calls it something we hope for. He wrote, “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith” (Galatians 5:5).

We can hope to have righteousness, but it only comes by faith.

Righteousness is the state of being pure; of thinking, feeling and acting correctly. Jesus put it this way, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). This is a seemingly unreachable goal. How can you be as perfect as our Father in heaven? The Bible tells us, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…” (Isaiah 64:6). There must be something more to this picture . . . ?

Glad Tidings of Romans ! – part 6

woman caught adultery     For I am not ashamed of the Glad Tidings of Christ . . . for therein is the Righteousness of GOD revealed ! . . .”
Romans 1:16-17

“And early in the morning He (Jesus, Yehushua) came again into the temple . . . and the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery . . . in the very act. And they say unto Him, Master . . . Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest Thou ?

And Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote upon the ground, as though He heard them not . . . And He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her . . . !”     John 8:1-11

“But go and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice . . . and the knowledge (knowing) of God more than burnt offerings ! . . . For I Am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance !”     Matthew 9:13 & Hosea 6:6 Continue reading
