Showers of Blessing . . . why do we expect so little ?

“Therefore . . . being by the right hand of God exalted (Ephesians 1:18-21), and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit . . . . He hath shed forth (gushed out as a fountain, poured forth) this, which ye now see and hear . . .

Then said Peter unto them . . . Repent, and be baptized* (Acts 19:1-8) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins . . . and ye shall receive the gift* (something given freely out of great love for the receiver) of the Holy Spirit . . .      For the Promise is unto you, and to your children . . . and to all that are afar off (yet in the outer court – Ephesians 2:13-14), even as many as the LORD our God shall call . . . !”     Acts 2:33-39

Quote –      “The church is not now the separate and peculiar people she was when the fires of persecution were kindled against her. How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed!     I saw that if the church had always retained her peculiar, holy character, the power of the Holy Spirit which was imparted to the disciples would still be with her. The sick would be healed, devils would be rebuked and cast out, and she would be mighty and a terror to her enemies.”   – Early Writings, p.227

note:   the character and righteousness (innocence, holiness and perfection)  of Christ Jesus is freely ours, if we will through surrender and living (active) faith appropriate it as our very own !

Quote –      “In order to be candidates for heaven we must meet the requirement of the law: “Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” (Luke 10:27).

We can do this only* as we grasp by faith the righteousness of Christ. By beholding Jesus (Isaiah 45:22-25) we receive a living, expanding principle in the heart, and the Holy Spirit carries on the work, and the believer advances from grace to grace, from strength to greater strength, from character to more perfect character.

He conforms to the image of Christ, until in spiritual growth he attains unto the measure of the full stature in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 4:7-8 and 4:12-13). Thus Christ makes an end of the curse of sin (Daniel 9:24), and sets the believing soul free from its action and effect !

Christ alone is able to do this, for “in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest [of our profession], in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation* for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted” (Hebrews 2:17-18).

Reconciliation means that every barrier between the soul and God is removed, and that the sinner realizes what the pardoning love of God means. By reason of the sacrifice made by Christ for fallen men, God can justly pardon the transgressor (Romans 3:24-26) who accepts the merits* [worthiness] of Christ. Christ was the channel through which the mercy, love, and righteousness might flow from the heart of God to the heart of the sinner. “He is faithful and He is (I Am) just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness . . . !” I John 1:9
– 1 Selected Messages, p.395

note:     “Jesus is the only hope of the soul . . . . The moment the sinner lays hold of Christ by faith, that moment his sins are no longer upon him. Christ stands in the sinner’s place, and declares, “I have borne his guilt, I have been punished for his transgressions, I have taken his sins, and put My righteousness upon him.”
ref:   Isaiah 53:4-12, II Corinthians 5:21 and I Peter 1:24

In Christ the sinner stands guiltless before the law. But how vain is the hope of entering heaven if we have no present faith in Christ, no delight in spiritual things, no joy in anticipating the joys of heaven.  . . . The Lord commands . . . and every command is a promise (Education, p.126), “Be ye holy, for I Am Holy.”

The Christian’s constant endeavour should be to come into perfect conformity to the Life of Christ (Romans 8:2-4 and II Corinthians 4:10-11); we must look away from the darkness (doubt and fear), and face the Light (the unfailing assurance and power of God’s Word).      Do not, by your attitude of unbelief, charge God with partiality or unfaithfulness. Your doubt casts reflections upon the verity of His promises. When in living faith you come to Jesus, and become doers of His Word, you will taste and see that the Lord is good. You will say to all, “By His stripes we are healed.” You will think of Jesus, you will talk of Jesus, as One Who is willing and able* (full of power) to save to the uttermost all that come unto God by Him.

If you believe in Christ as your Saviour, His perfect obedience is set to your account. You are pardoned as you look to Jesus as your Substitute and Surety (guarantee of a completed work) . The promise of God is, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and He is Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us (Ezekiel 36:22-36) from all unrighteousness.”                                                                                                                 – Present Truth, January 30, 1890

In the prophecy of Daniel it was recorded of Christ that He shall “make reconciliation for iniquity, and . . . bring in everlasting righteousness” (Daniel 9:24). Every soul may say: “By His perfect obedience He has satisfied the claims of the law (for the law of God – Deity demands nothing less than perfect holiness, James 2:10 and Galatians 3:10-14) , and my only hope is found in looking to Him as my Substitute and Surety, Who obeyed the law perfectly for me.

By faith in His merits* (worthiness) I am free* from (Galatians 3:22 and 5:1-4 and 4:21-29) the condemnation of the law. He clothes me with His righteousness, which answers all the demands of the law. I am complete in Him (Colossians 2:10 and Ephesians 1:6) Who brings in everlasting righteousness. He presents me to God in the spotless garment of which no thread was woven by any human agent. All is of Christ, and all the glory, honor, and majesty are to be given to the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world !”
– 1 Selected Messages, p.395-396

“Just prior to His leaving His disciples for the heavenly courts, Jesus encouraged them with the Promise of the Holy Spirit. This promise belongs as much to us as it did to them, and yet how rarely it is presented before the people, and its reception spoken of in the church. In consequence of this silence upon this most important theme, what promise do we know less about by its practical fulfillment than this rich promise of the gift of the Holy Spirit, whereby efficiency is to be given to all our spiritual labor?

     The Promise of the Holy Spirit is casually brought into our discourses, is incidentally touched upon, and that is all. Prophecies have been dwelt upon, doctrines have been expounded; but that which is essential to the church in order that they may grow in spiritual strength and efficiency, in order that the preaching may carry conviction with it, and souls be converted to God, has been largely left out of ministerial effort. This subject has been set aside, as if some time in the future would be given to its consideration. Other blessings and privileges have been presented before the people until a desire has been awakened in the church for the attainment of the Blessing promised of God . . .      But the impression concerning the Holy Spirit has been that this gift is not for the church now, but that at some time in the future it would be necessary for the church to receive it.  {TM 174.1}

All Other Blessings Found in One . . .

This promised Blessing, if claimed by faith (Galatians 3:14), would bring all other blessings in its train, and it is to be given liberally to the people of God. Through the cunning devices of the enemy the minds of God’s people seem to be incapable of comprehending and appropriating the promises of God. They seem to think that only the scantiest showers of grace are to fall upon the thirsty soul.      The people of God have accustomed themselves to think that they must rely upon their own efforts, that little help is to be received from heaven; and the result is that they have little Light to communicate to other souls who are dying in error and darkness.

The church has long been contented with little of the Blessing (Spirit-filled promises, John 6:63) of God; they have not felt the need of reaching up to the exalted privileges purchased for them at infinite cost. Their spiritual strength has been feeble, their experience of a dwarfed and crippled character, and they are disqualified for the work the Lord would have them to do (Mark 16:15-20). They are not able to present the great and glorious Truths (unfailing verity) of God’s Holy Word that would convict and convert souls through the agency of the Holy Spirit.

The power of God awaits their demand and reception. A harvest of joy will be reaped by those who sow the holy seeds of Truth. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him !” – Testimonies to Ministers, p.174

The Path (Way) of Life ?

bethesda     “My son, My daughter . . . . attend to My Words, yea, incline thine ear to My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart . . . For they are Life unto those that find them (John 6:63), and health to all their flesh !”
– Proverbs 4:20-22

“The Saviour in His miracles revealed the power that is continually at work in man’s behalf, to sustain and to heal him . . . Sickness, suffering, and death are work of an antagonistic power. Satan is the destroyer; but God is (our) the Restorer . . . !

The Words spoken to Israel are true today of those who recover health of body or health of soul. “I Am the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) that healeth thee !” Exodus 15:26.

The desire of God for every human being is expressed in the Words, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2.  He it is Whoforgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies !” Psalm 103:3-4

When Christ healed disease, He warned many of the afflicted ones, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” John 5:14. Thus He taught that they had brought disease upon themselves by transgressing the laws of God (Theos – Deity, divinity), and that health could be preserved only by obedience.

The physician should teach his patients that they are to cooperate with God in the work of restoration. The physician has a continually increasing realization of the fact that disease is the result of sin. He knows that the laws of nature, as truly as the precepts of the Decalogue, are divine, and that only in obedience to them can health be recovered or preserved. He sees many suffering as the result of hurtful practices who might be restored to health if they would do what they might for their own restoration. They need to be taught that every practice which destroys the physical, mental, or spiritual energies is sin, and that health is to be secured through obedience to the laws fruits-veggies-3that God has established for the good of all mankind.

When a physician sees a patient suffering from disease caused by improper eating and drinking or other wrong habits, yet neglects to tell him of this, he is doing his fellow being an injury. Drunkards, maniacs, those who are given over to licentiousness* (immoral thoughts and practices), all appeal to the physician to declare clearly and distinctly that suffering results from sin. Those who understand the principles of life should be in earnest in striving to counteract the causes of disease. Seeing the continual conflict with pain, laboring constantly to alleviate suffering, how can the physician hold his peace? Is he benevolent and merciful if he does not teach strict temperance as a remedy for disease?fruits-vegetables-fresh-2

Let it be made plain that the way (path) of God’s commandments is the Way of Life. God has established the laws of nature, but His laws are not arbitrary exactions. Every “Thou shalt not,” whether in physical or in moral law, implies a promise. If we obey it, blessing will attend our steps. God never forces us to do right, but He seeks to save us from the evil and lead us to the good.

Let attention be called to the laws that were taught to Israel. God gave them definite instruction in regard to their habits of life. He made known to them the laws relating to both physical and spiritual well-being; and on condition of obedience He assured them . . .

The LORD will take away from thee all sickness.” Deuteronomy 7:15. “Set your hearts unto all the Words which I testify among you this day.” “For they are Life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” Deuteronomy 32:46; Proverbs 4:22.

God desires us to reach the standard of perfection made possible for us by the gift of Christ. He calls upon us to make our choice on the right side, to connect with heavenly agencies, to adopt principles that will restore in us the divine image. In His written Word and in the great book of nature He has revealed the principles of Life. It is our work to obtain a knowledge of these principles, and by obedience to co-operate with Him in restoring health to the body as well as to the soul.

bread-barleynote:
The physical life is to be carefully educated, cultivated, and developed, that through men and women the divine nature may be revealed in its fullness. Both the physical and the mental powers, with the affections, are to be so trained that they can reach the highest efficiency.

That perfection* of character which the Lord requires is the fitting up of the whole being as a temple for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. God will accept of nothing less than the service of the entire human organism.

It is not enough to bring into action certain parts of the living machinery. All parts must work in perfect harmony, or the service will be deficient. It is thus that man is qualified to co-operate with God in representing Christ to the world. Thus God desires to prepare a people to stand before Him pure and holy, that He may introduce them into the society of heavenly angels.

Perfection of character cannot be attained when the laws of nature are disregarded; for this is transgression of the law of God (Theos – deity, divinity). His law is written by His own finger upon every nerve, every muscle, every fiber of our being, upon every faculty which has been intrusted to man. These gifts are bestowed, not to be abused and corrupted, but to be used to His honor and glory in the uplifting of humanity. { Review & Herald, November 12, 1901}

Men need to learn that the blessings of obedience, in their fullness, can be theirs only as they receive the grace* (G5485 = Divine Influence) of Christ. It is His grace that gives man power to obey the laws of God. It is this that enables him to break the bondage of evil habit. This is the only power that can make him and keep him steadfast in the right path . . . !”

Into all the world . . . Will you help us ?

ascensionWe ask for your help . . .?

Our Saviour’s last Words to each of us as He ascended up to the right hand of the Majesty on high was . . . All power in heaven and on earth has been given unto Me . . . Go ye therefore into all the world, and proclaim the Glad Tidings unto every creature; and he that believeth and is baptized* (Titus 3:5-7) shall be Saved* (delivered, set free, rescued, healed and made whole) . . . !”

Matthew 28:18-19 and Mark 16:15-20

Since that morning in 2008, I have never forgotten the Voice of our LORD, when He spoke to me from His Word, and said . . . “Go and tell what great things the LORD hath done for you !”   My family and I have taken those words to heart. And knowing that our Lord (Sovereign King) and Saviour Jesus Christ is soon to return in the clouds of heaven, we do all that we can to share the Glad Tidings of the victory and freedom which He has wrought for every soul who is willing to surrender and believe . . .

The work and ministry is now growing at an unprecedented rate. Each month we are receiving hundreds of emails and phone calls from people just like you. Many are hungering and thirsting for a Word of hope and assurance. Many are searching for a way to break the chains which have held them so long in bondage to doubt, and fear, and addiction to sin . . .

And to every person the Promise (Oath, Word) of God is both sure, and steadfast . . . “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord (Sovereign King) shall be saved* (delivered, healed and set free) !”

But how shall they call upon Him in Whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have net heard?  and how shall they hear except there be one who proclaims?   And how shall they proclaim, except they be sent?

As it is written . . . How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of them that proclaim the Glad Tidings of Peace (Ephesians 2:13-14), that proclaimeth Salvation . . . that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth !”     Romans 10:13-15 and Isaiah 52:1-7

Each month our family here at Isaiah Ministries is sending out, free of charge, between 400 and 650 DVDs and audio CDs, each one containing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and precious Truths from His Word. Each month we are being invited to share in person, the Glad Tidings of our Redemption and Salvation in Christ Jesus, often many miles away from home. And every call to speak is of the greatest importance, for only in eternity shall each of us know the influence and power we held in Christ, to win a soul to faith in Him !

Every month we are receiving new requests for Bible and literature from brothers and sisters in small congregations overseas, and to each of these God’s Word must be sent . . . !

We are asking in faith for your help now . . . While there is still time you can make the greatest difference in another person’s life; a decision for eternity.

We have now a new booklet which is ready to go to print, the title of which is called . . .”A Message of Hope !”   This is a collection of Bible promises and testimonies which point to the great sacrifice and hope we have been given in the death, burial and glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And of the victory and freedom which He is willing and able to give to all that call upon Him in faith !

It is our prayer that with your help, we may go forward, claiming the victories of our Saviour, and winning hearts to saving faith in Him. Please contact us at our email address, or phone number below if you would like to help.

You may also use our email below to send a ministry gift through PayPal. My family and I thank you so much for your continued prayers and support. And we lift you also each day in our prayers and in faith.

May the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) both bless and keep you, strong in faith, and the unfailing power of His Life-giving Word !

The Truth About Christmas ?

“I charge you therefore before God, and the Lord (our Sovereign King) Jesus Christ . . . Who shall judge the quick (living) and the dead at His soon appearing . . . Preach the Word; be instant in season, and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine . . .

For the time will come when they (the church) will not endure sound doctrine (teaching, instruction from God’s Word) . . . . But after their own lusts (carnal, worldly desires) shall they heap to themselves teachers, which have itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the Truth (God’s Word – John 17:17), and shall be turned unto fables . . . !”     II Timothy 4:1-4

We encourage every son and daughter of the LORD God,Almighty to seek Light from the Word of Truth, and search the Scriptures for themselves. Let us examine all that we do, and all that we call Christian in the Light of God’s Word, lest we be found futilely attempting to justify pagan practices in the name of Christ Jesus.

I have shared a few good resource sites below, and also encourage each of us to stand for Truth, regardless of what others choose to do . . .

The Spiritual Deception of Yoga ?

modern yoga class 2 Article by brother William Fife (Scotland).

It is the purpose of this short testimony to show that yoga is a spiritual deception.

If you think that you can use yoga only for physical training and not be affected by its spiritual side, you are wrong. You are wrong if you believe the many websites and teachers in the West who declare that yoga is just a harmless physical exercise.

The Bible warns of such spiritual seduction: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 TIMOTHY 4:1).

Speaking from my own experience, I am convinced that yoga is one of the seducing doctrines God expressly warns about in the above scripture. I started yoga at age 16, and practiced every day for 1-2 hours. It seemed to strengthen my body and improve my flexibility. At the age of 18, I dived into it (I was at that time unemployed) and did some 4-6 hours of yoga daily. I was convinced that yoga enlightened my own spiritual intelligence and enhanced my physical fitness. I would have vehemently denied that there is anything religious in yoga or that I was in any way influenced by the spiritual or religious aspects of yoga. The following is why I think differently today.

The Origin and Reasons for the Season ?

“Hear ye the Word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel . . . Thus saith the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah), Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven . . . !”   Jeremiah 10:1-5

For “well did Isaiah prophesy of us, saying . . . This people draweth nigh unto Me with their mouth, and they honoreth Me with their lips; but their hearts are far from Me. For in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men . . .”   Matthew 15:6-9

It is our prayer that each child of God will search for the Truth, as it is in Christ Jesus. For the Bible says, “The times of our ignorance God winked at, but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent . . . . Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man (Christ Jesus) Whom He hath ordained . . . !”   Acts 17:30-31

I Have Set Before thee an Open Door, which no man can shut !

bird on a fenceOur Privileges in Christ Jesus –

“To whom He said, This is the Rest wherewith ye shall cause the weary to rest; and this is the Refreshing; yet they would not hear . . . . !”         Isaiah 28:12-13 & ref: Hebrews 3:18-19 & 4:1-12 & Exodus 31:12-17

Full and free the invitation comes to us: “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you Rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I Am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:25-30

The greatest sin we can cherish is the sin of unbelief (ref: Romans 14:23).  Many say, I do not know how to be a Bible Christian. It is because you do not receive Christ personally as a sin-pardoning Saviour. Therefore your experience is full of inconsistency and unbelief. No one can have joy and peace who does not receive and obey Christ’s Words . . . .
