Simple Living (active) Faith ?

rainbow 2a    “Believe that Jesus meets with you (and dwells within you . . . because He has promised); believe that He is willing to bless you. Turn the eye away from self (your own weakness). Look unto Jesus, talk of His matchless love. By beholding Him you will become changed into His likeness. When you pray, be brief, come right to the point. Do not preach the Lord a sermon in your long prayers. Ask for the Bread of Life (His Spirit-filled promises – John 6:27-50) as a hungry child asks bread of his earthly father. God will bestow upon us every needed blessing if we ask Him in simplicity and faith.”
– Counsels to the Church, p.294

“True faith lays hold of and claims the promised Blessing before it is realized and felt. We must send up our petitions in faith within the second veil and let our faith take hold of the promised blessing and claim it as ours (Galatians 3:14). We are then to believe that we receive the blessing, because our faith has hold of it, and according to the Word it is ours. “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them !”
Mark 11:24 and Hebrews 11:1-6

Here is faith, naked faith, to believe that we receive the blessing (the promise spoken), even before we realize it. When the promised blessing is realized and enjoyed, faith is swallowed up. But many suppose they have much faith when sharing largely of the Holy Spirit and that they cannot have faith unless they feel the power of the Spirit. Swallpaper-2995113uch confound faith with the blessing that comes through faith. The very time to exercise faith is when we feel destitute of the Spirit.

When thick clouds of darkness seem to hover over the mind, then is the time to let living (active) faith pierce the darkness and scatter the clouds. True faith rests on the promises contained in the Word of God, and those only who obey that Word can claim its glorious promises. If ye abide in Me, and My Words . . . which are Spirit and Life . . . abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you !” John 15:7 and 6:63.

“Whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:22.      We should be much in secret prayer. Christ is the Vine, ye (we) are the branches. And if we would grow and flourish, we must continually draw sap and nourishment from the Living Vine (John 15:1-7); for separated from the Vine we have no strength !

I asked the angel why there was no more faith and power in Israel. He said, “Ye let go of the arm of the Lord too soon. Press your petitions to the throne, and hold on by strong faith (Matthew 11:12 and Luke 18:3-8). The promises are sure. Believe ye Guardian Angelreceive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24

I was then pointed to Elijah. He was subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly. His faith endured the trial. Seven times he prayed before the LORD, and at last the cloud was seen.      I saw that we had doubted the sure promises, and wounded the Saviour by our lack of faith. Said the angel, “Gird the armor about thee, and above all take the shield of faith; for that will guard the heart, the very life, from the fiery darts (lies – John 8:44) of the wicked.”

If the enemy can lead the desponding to take their eyes off from Jesus, and look to themselves, and dwell upon their own unworthiness, instead of dwelling upon the worthiness (merits, righteousness) of Jesus as our Substitute and Surety, His love, His merits, and His great mercy, he will get away their shield of faith and gain his object; they will be exposed to his fiery temptations. The weak should therefore look to Jesus, and believe in Him (the Word of Almighty God); they then exercise (step forward, and walk out in) faith . . .”

For He verily cannot fail . . . nor will He ever put us to shame !

And They Two Shall be One Flesh . . .?

     “Yet ye say . . . Wherefore?
Because the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth . . . against whom thou hats dealt treacherously. Yet she is thy companion, and the wife of thy Covenant (Oath) . . .

For did not He make them one (Matthew 19:3-9)? . . . and wherefore one? So that He might seek a godly seed (children). Therefore take heed to your spirit (mind), and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth . . . . For the LORD, the God (Elohim – Mighty One) of Israel, saith He hateth putting away in divorce . . . !”
Malachi 2:13-16 & ref: Malachi 4:6

Note:   My wife and I are sharing this short yet powerful testimony of a
little girl who is struggling with the battle taking place between her Dad
and Mom. As I watched it today I was very inspired, as well as saddened,
for although the little girl’s heart’s desire is right . . . she did not know
how to fix a seemingly impossible dilemma.

So many of God’s children are struggling, and although they may
sincerely desire for their marriage healed and restored, they often do not
realize what it is they are literally fighting against, nor where the fight
is coming from . . .

My wife and I know all to well from personal experience what this battle
is like. For we wrestled for years to overcome, yet it seemed no matter how
hard we “tried,” nothing seemed to really work. Looking back now, I clearly
see that we were “fighting” in the flesh, rather than the power of God’s
Spirit !

For our Father in heaven has given each of us great Light from His
Word, and above all, this assurance . . . “For the weapons of our warfare
are not carnal (weak and human), but mighty (full of power and possible)
through God . . . to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down
imaginations, and every high thing (those spirits, and powers of the air)
that exalts itself against the knowledge (knowing – John 17:3) of God . . .

And bringing into captivity every thought to the perfect obedience of
Christ !”   II Corinthians 10:4-5 & ref: Ephesians 2:2

“We wrestle not against flesh and blood (not our spouse, nor even our
own), but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness* of this world . . . against spiritual wickedness in the heavens…

Wherefore my brother and sister, take unto you the whole armour of God
(Deity – II Peter 1:4), so that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day . . .
 and having done all, to stand ! . . . .

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with the Truth (John 17:17), and having on the breastplate of righteousness (Jeremiah 23:5-6) . . . And your feet shod with the preparation (ointment) of the Glad Tidings of Peace . . .
And above all, taking the shield of faith . . . and faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17) . . . wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one (Satan, the devil) . . . And take the helmet of your Salvation (that deliverance, freedom and healing wrought and complete for you by the Lord Jesus Christ), and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God . . . !”   Ephesians 6:12-18

“For it is not by might, nor by power . . . but by My Spirit saith the LORD of hosts !”   And the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life !”     Zechariah 4:6 and John 6:63 and ref: Isaiah 55:8-11

We pray that this little girls testimony will touch you. And I encourage you also to watch the story of the miracle which the LORD did in our lives, and is more than willing also to do in yours, if you will seek Him with all your heart, and fight the good fight of faith !

The Life of Faith and Victory ?

prayer of faith 2 “To believe on Christ is to receive Christ; not to assent to a creed (a mere theory of the Truth), but to accept a Life ! . . .

Marvel not that I say unto you, Ye must be born (begotten) again !”   John 3:7

To all who sincerely pray the prayer, “Create in me a clean heart,” (Psalm 51:10), the reply comes, “Believe ye that I Am able to do this? according to your faith be it unto you . . . !”

The gift of Righteousness ?

robes of righteousness 2The Gift of Righteousness –

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith . . . to faith.” Romans 1:17.

Faith is complete dependence upon the Word of God, expecting that Word to do what the Word Itself says. Is there, then, righteousness spoken by the Word of God, so that people can depend completely upon that Word, that the Word shall accomplish what the Word says?

There is. . . . Indeed, that is the very object of the gift of Christ. For Him “God hath set forth . . . to declare His righteousness (faithfulness) for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Romans 3:25.

Free Indeed . . . !

Spirit filledNot by Might, nor by Strength, but by My Spirit saith the LORD of Hosts . . . !”

The means by which we can overcome the wicked one is that by which Christ overcame, — by the power of the Word. God does not control our minds without our consent; but if we desire to know and to do His will, His Promises are ours: for our Saviour says, “Sanctify them through Thy Truth (Verity) . . . Thy Word is Truth ! and  Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth (verity of My Word) shall make you free !”  John 17:17 & John 8:32

Through faith in these Promises, every man may be delivered from the snares of error and the control of sin . . . !”

By sin we have been severed from the Life of God. Of ourselves we are utterly incapable of living a holy life. There are many who realize their helplessness, and who long for that spiritual Life which will bring them into harmony with God; they are vainly striving to obtain this Life.

The LORD’s Will for us to walk in Victory !

 Over Sin

woman caught adultery     “Behold . . . . What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons (begotten children) of God, and therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not !

Beloved, Now (Today) we are called the sons of God . . . . And every man that hath this hope in Him, purifieth himself, even as He is pure . . . . for ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin !”   I John 3:2-5

“Now unto Him that is able . . . . to keep you Today from falling, and to present you faultless before the Presence (throne) of His glory with exceeding joy. To the Only Wise God our Saviour . . . to Him be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen !”     Jude 1:24-25

“Have you heard about the evolutionary way of getting the victory over bad habits and sins? It is sometimes called the TAPERING method or the TRYING method, but generally, it just doesn’t work. Oh, it partially works, of course, because old age takes care of some temptations and sins, and time settles the rest when death comes. But do you know why TRYING does not work in overcoming the devil?” Continue reading

To Stand in Victory !

sit walk stand     Satan’s primary object is not to get us to sin . . .  But simply to take us off the ground of perfect Rest (Sabbath – faith) in Christ !

Stand therefore, having your loins gird about with Truth (the Verity of God’s Word) . . . !”
Ephesians 6:14

Only those who sit (with Christ – Ephesians 2:6) can stand. Our power for standing, as for walking, lies in our having first been made to sit together with Christ. The Christian’s walk and warfare alike derive their strength from His position there. If he (the Christian) is not sitting before God, in His Presence . . .
he cannot hope to stand before the enemy . . . . Continue reading

The Faith of Jesus ?

pilgrims progress 1“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus !”Revelation 14:12   This well-known verse is a wonderful description of those who are waiting for our Lord’s return. There are, however, some conflicting opinions as to the exact meaning of this verse, in particular in regards to “the faith of Jesus.”Some say it means faith in and some say it means faith of Jesus.

The original Greek of this portion of Scripture can be read both ways: faith in or faith of. For Christians, both aspects are of vital importance. I prefer to read this as “the faith of Jesus.” This ties in with other portions of Scripture that literally read the faith of God or faith of Jesus. For example, in Mark 11:22, Jesus says, “Have faith in God.” But the footnote states that the original meaning is, “Have the faith of God.” Continue reading

Does God still have power Today ?

captives free    “And these signs shall follow them that believe . . . !”   Mark 16:17

Has the Devil retired? or does he work only on a larger scale, now that we have moved into the modern age of technology and science ?  Does Satan limit his methods and attacks only to the larger corporate church and world stage, or is he still battling intensely for families, homes, and individual lives ?

And does the LORD’s last great commission really include the Spiritual power and authority to fight and win against these forces of darkness ?

A question came across our ministry’s desk this week, and I was very encouraged to see so many of the LORD’s children searching for Truth !   It was a question regarding the Biblical subject of demonic harassment, and oppression. Especially of those who profess belief in the Lord Jesus Christ (Adoni Yehushua ha Moshiac) . . . . Continue reading

Victory – and the Battle Within ?

For the flesh lusteth (warreth) against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary the one to the other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
