Simple Living (active) Faith ?

rainbow 2a    “Believe that Jesus meets with you (and dwells within you . . . because He has promised); believe that He is willing to bless you. Turn the eye away from self (your own weakness). Look unto Jesus, talk of His matchless love. By beholding Him you will become changed into His likeness. When you pray, be brief, come right to the point. Do not preach the Lord a sermon in your long prayers. Ask for the Bread of Life (His Spirit-filled promises – John 6:27-50) as a hungry child asks bread of his earthly father. God will bestow upon us every needed blessing if we ask Him in simplicity and faith.”
– Counsels to the Church, p.294

“True faith lays hold of and claims the promised Blessing before it is realized and felt. We must send up our petitions in faith within the second veil and let our faith take hold of the promised blessing and claim it as ours (Galatians 3:14). We are then to believe that we receive the blessing, because our faith has hold of it, and according to the Word it is ours. “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them !”
Mark 11:24 and Hebrews 11:1-6

Here is faith, naked faith, to believe that we receive the blessing (the promise spoken), even before we realize it. When the promised blessing is realized and enjoyed, faith is swallowed up. But many suppose they have much faith when sharing largely of the Holy Spirit and that they cannot have faith unless they feel the power of the Spirit. Swallpaper-2995113uch confound faith with the blessing that comes through faith. The very time to exercise faith is when we feel destitute of the Spirit.

When thick clouds of darkness seem to hover over the mind, then is the time to let living (active) faith pierce the darkness and scatter the clouds. True faith rests on the promises contained in the Word of God, and those only who obey that Word can claim its glorious promises. If ye abide in Me, and My Words . . . which are Spirit and Life . . . abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you !” John 15:7 and 6:63.

“Whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:22.      We should be much in secret prayer. Christ is the Vine, ye (we) are the branches. And if we would grow and flourish, we must continually draw sap and nourishment from the Living Vine (John 15:1-7); for separated from the Vine we have no strength !

I asked the angel why there was no more faith and power in Israel. He said, “Ye let go of the arm of the Lord too soon. Press your petitions to the throne, and hold on by strong faith (Matthew 11:12 and Luke 18:3-8). The promises are sure. Believe ye Guardian Angelreceive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24

I was then pointed to Elijah. He was subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly. His faith endured the trial. Seven times he prayed before the LORD, and at last the cloud was seen.      I saw that we had doubted the sure promises, and wounded the Saviour by our lack of faith. Said the angel, “Gird the armor about thee, and above all take the shield of faith; for that will guard the heart, the very life, from the fiery darts (lies – John 8:44) of the wicked.”

If the enemy can lead the desponding to take their eyes off from Jesus, and look to themselves, and dwell upon their own unworthiness, instead of dwelling upon the worthiness (merits, righteousness) of Jesus as our Substitute and Surety, His love, His merits, and His great mercy, he will get away their shield of faith and gain his object; they will be exposed to his fiery temptations. The weak should therefore look to Jesus, and believe in Him (the Word of Almighty God); they then exercise (step forward, and walk out in) faith . . .”
– Early Writings, p.72-73

For He verily cannot fail . . . nor will He ever put us to shame !

Yea, I Am . . . Thy Salvation !

“And this is the name whereby He shall be called . . . THE LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS !”
Jeremiah 23:5-6

May we each by the grace and power of God . . . sound His Mighty name unto the ends of the earth. And may we each also enter with Him by faith into His glorious Rest (Exodus 31:17, Isaiah 28:12 and Hebrews 3:7-19 and 4:1-10), promised us from the foundation of the world . . . !

Our Lord and Saviour is returning very soon, and He asks that every child of God will surrender our lives completely to Him, and help in this great work of reaching a world still lost in darkness, in doubt and in sin.

May our LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) bless and keep you strong in faith, and the unfailing power of His Life-giving Word !

Remember the Sabbath to Keep it Holy –

7th day 2The Sabbath: How Do We Know Which Day It Is ?

article originally published in Signs of the Times,
September 22, 2015
written by: Ed Dickerson

I took a tour of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, USA, a while back, and my guide said that “the Declaration of Independence was signed in this room on July 4, 1776.” But he went on to explain that only one part of that statement was true. I love history, so standing merely a metre from where Thomas Jefferson had been seated in Independence Hall filled me with awe, and I thought perhaps I had misunderstood the man’s words. “It was not signed that day,” the guide said. “There was a war going on; they had more important things to deal with.”

On July 2 (and not the fourth), Congress unanimously approved the Declaration of Independence. But the vote was for a much altered document, with multiple passages crossed out, some words added and numerous corrections. It was definitely not suitable for framing or public display. The final draft was presented to Congress on July 4, which they then ratified as correct. On July 19, Congress ordered final “engrossed” copy, that is, one written in a large, clear hand. That’s the one on display at the National Archives, but this final copy wasn’t actually signed until August 2.

Discovering that the signing of the Declaration of Independence didn’t take place on July 4, 1776, got me thinking about dates, days and, being a pastor, the Sabbath.

As in the days of Noah ?

“But as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) ! . . . For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving again in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark . . . . And knew not until the flood came and took them all away !

     So shall also the coming of the Son of man be . . . !”     Matthew 24:36-39 & Genesis 6:5 – 7:12

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought and they sold, they planted and they builded. But the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all . . . Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man (Jesus, Yehushua) is revealed . . . !”     Luke 17:28-32 & Genesis 18:20-33 & 19:1-26

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after (according) to their own lusts (carnal desires), and saying, Where is the Promise of His coming?   for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the Creation . . . . But this they are willingly ignorant of  . . . .

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing . . . . the LORD (Jahovah, Yehuwah) is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men count slackness; but rather, He is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance . . . !”     II Peter 3:3-13

“Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near . . . . Let the wicked forsake his ways, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God (Elohim – Mighty One), for He will abundantly pardon . . . !”     Isaiah 55:6-13

“Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions (rebellions, apostasies); so that iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed (rebelled); and make you a new heart and a new spirit (mind) . . . . for why will ye die, O house of Israel ?

For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: therefore turn yourselves, and live ye !”     Ezekiel 18:30-32

And Every eye shall see Him !

“For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect . . . And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven . . . and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory !

And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds . . . In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump (7th trumpet): for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed . . . !”     Matthew 24:29-31, I Corinthians 15:51-54 & ref: Revelation 6:12-17 & 10:6-7
